How Traffic Warrants Work in Clark County
Skip a citation, miss a hearing, or ignore a court requirement, and a traffic warrant can follow. In Clark County the warrant stays with the issuing court, so the fix depends on which one signed it. Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, and Mesquite each have their own city-court routes, while township traffic matters go through Justice Court. Nevada posts no single public warrant or FTA portal. That gap trips people up. A court event can also trigger a license consequence, but checking an outstanding traffic warrant is a different task from buying a DMV record. The clerk can walk you through the citation, what the warrant label means, the amount, and your next date.
Clark County Traffic Checks Start With Ticket Court
The ticket itself tells you where to go. Read it for the court name and number. A citation written inside an incorporated city normally belongs to that city's Municipal Court, while one from outside city limits usually points to a Justice Court township. The Justice Court directory helps you pin down the right township. From there, the paths split across Clark County. Las Vegas Municipal Court offers a case docket and an eWarrant route. Henderson relies on eAccess plus Marshal instructions. North Las Vegas publishes court-only warrant guidance, Boulder City confirms through its Marshal, and Mesquite wants a call or an appearance to sort out bail. The court, not a generic search box, gives the controlling answer.

Match the portal to the ticket, then confirm with the clerk. The Clark County Justice Court public-access system searches by name, case number, or ticket number, and it warns that citations may take two to three weeks to post. North Las Vegas Justice Court asks for case, citation, first name, and last name. Las Vegas Municipal Court takes a case number or a city name form.
- Identify city or township court from the ticket.
- Search by ticket, case, or name in the official system.
- Read the court notice before paying online.
- Call if the citation is missing, the date has passed, or a warrant appears.
- Ask what payment, plan, motion, or appearance will happen next.
Five Portals Ask for Different Fields
Each Clark County court wants its own fields. A name search can find a case, but a ticket or case number gives the clerk a stronger key. Never assume one form covers every court.
| Route | Fields | Local notice |
|---|---|---|
| Justice Court access | Name, case number, ticket number | Listed townships; citations may post later. |
| North Las Vegas Justice | Case, citation, first and last name | Data may be incomplete or updated. |
| Henderson eAccess | Name, DOB, dates, case type, citation, case number | Other cases route to Justice Court. |
| Las Vegas docket | Case number, Search, Clear | Other jurisdictions excluded. |

Traffic Warrants: What They Show
A traffic record may tie the citation to the court, date, charge, warrant event, and amount. It may not show full current status. Ask the Clark County clerk whether the entry is an FTA, failure to pay, bench warrant, or another court label.
| Ticket or citation number | Use it to locate the exact traffic case. |
|---|---|
| Court and jurisdiction | Separates city court from township Justice Court. |
| Warrant reason | May be missed date, unpaid amount, or court noncompliance. |
| Bail or fine | Confirm amount and whether an appearance is required. |
| Next event | May be payment, plan, arraignment, motion, or hearing. |
A Missing Citation May Take Time to Post
The Justice Court portal states that a citation can take two to three weeks to appear, so a blank result does not mean the deadline vanished. Call the issuing Clark County court if the date is close, the portal shows nothing, or the ticket number fails. Henderson's eAccess also routes cases outside city scope to Henderson Justice Court. Las Vegas Municipal Court's docket page says warrants from other jurisdictions do not appear there, so use the court number on the official page instead of repeating a search in the wrong system.
Clearing a Clark County Traffic Warrant
Ask the clerk what the court allows: online payment, full bail, a plan, a motion, a walk-in, or a required appearance. Las Vegas AB116 covers eligible civil-infraction conversion and is not countywide amnesty. Henderson allows online payment for Failure to Pay and most Failure to Appear Traffic warrants, with other types handled in person or by mail. North Las Vegas lists full bail, set bail with a plan, surety, a motion to quash, and surrender. No single Clark County rule covers all of it.
Confirm first: Payment may lift the warrant without dismissing the citation, and a required arraignment or future date may remain.
City Rules Differ on Bail and Arraignment
Clark County's bail window accepts specified bail once the court confirms the amount, but posting there does not decide the traffic case. Henderson says arraignment follows bail. North Las Vegas charges a documented $50 bail-bond fee and keeps a separate after-hours route. Boulder City wants the warrant and amount confirmed with the Marshal before payment. Mesquite notes that full bail may clear a warrant depending on why it issued. The Pre-Trial Services page lists county bail operations, but the issuing court controls the local outcome.
How Traffic Warrants Trigger License Holds
The traffic warrant is the court order. FTA just names the missed appearance that can lead to it. A license hold or suspension is a separate consequence handled through the court and the state process. Clark County records may show these terms together, yet they are not the same record.
| Term | What it means here | Best first call |
|---|---|---|
| Traffic warrant | Court process tied to a traffic case. | Issuing Municipal or Justice Court. |
| FTA | Failure to appear or respond. | Issuing court clerk. |
| License consequence | Possible result of unresolved court action. | Court, then the proper state office. |
Court Payment Does Not End Every Case
Keep the receipt, ask for the next court date, and confirm the warrant event was entered. A payment can secure release, move the case onto a plan, or trigger an arraignment, but paying does not automatically dismiss or seal anything. Clark County's general records page notes that court records belong to their courts, not the county's general records office. If a portal is missing a ticket or the status is unclear, use the issuing clerk or a Nevada attorney. The county status guidance supplies the starting phone chain. Source: official page.
